Dressing the deceased

We know that many people prefer their loved one to wear their own clothing when they are buried or cremated. It’s a personal choice for you to make.

Any attire that reflects a personal passion, hobby, occasion or achievement is increasingly popular. This might include wedding dresses, football strips, military uniforms or motorbike leathers.

Dressing the deceased in their own clothing is usually perfectly fine – although there may be some exceptions, particularly for cremations (we need to comply with regulations which restrict certain materials).

So please feel free to ask us for advice if you’re considering providing clothing for the deceased.

Alternatively, we can supply gowns with each of our coffins and you can view the full Craven range alongside our coffin interiors.

If you need more help or guidance about the choice of clothing for your loved one, we’re here to help…
